Legalization of Diploma

You have completed a university in the Czech Republic and you need an international diploma (for further studies, employment, family relations). The diploma and the supplement to the diploma (supplement) need to be legalized – Apostille Clause.

We will be happy to arrange the Apostille Clause for you by ourselves, at the Ministry of Education + Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

For each document are required stamps worth 100, – CZK. Bring your stamp with you! (available at the Czech Post).

A foreigner who wants to study in the Czech Republic must follow the same procedure.

His diploma and appendix must be accompanied by the Apostille Clause of the country that issued it. If he has not done so, then it can be done in the Czech Republic at the Legalization Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (600, – CZK stamp), and then submit a diploma at the embassy of the country that issued the document.

Superlegalization of Diploma

Diplomas must be legalized and the next step is superlegalization. The superlegalization stamp will be issued to you by the embassy of the country for which it will be targeted. The list of embassies of countries operating in the Czech Republic can be found here.

Types of diplomas and their translation

  • Medical diplomas are issued in Latin, court translations directly into Czech – English – German – French.
  • Diplomas for nurses and health care workers – they are issued by the Ministry of Health and they must undergo legalization before the court translation.
  • Diplomas issued before the CSFR (before 1993) also undergo legalization and then translation – Ministry of Education.
  • The higher education diplomas contain an appendix, i.e. grades and ratings, which, however, is not translated, as it is already in the Czech and English version, but must pass legalization.

Certified diploma translation → brief descrioption of the servic

A) The translation of the diploma includes making a notarized copy, you can arrange it yourself, or we will arrange it for you.

Never verify the documents at the Czech Post, because the foreign authorities do not accept such verified documents !!!

Do not be afraid of notaries, their fee is exactly the same as Czech POINT (36, -CZK for a verified page of the document). In addition, you will get much more gentle behavior and without any waiting (depending on the current situation).

B) In the case of the court translation, the document must be inextricably bundled with the translation and bear the endorsement, signature and seal of the translator. Most often, the translation is tied with a tricolor string, but stitching is sufficient.

C) We need a diploma from you to begin translating. You can deliver it to us in person in JSV Office in the Wenceslas Square, or send it via a registered mail. Of course, we will return the original diploma to you. The relevant diploma only documents the highest level of education, as it automatically involves lower educational levels.

Deadline for translation of diploma

The deadline for the translation of a diploma depends on its complexity. In the case of translating the European language and if the scope of the diploma is 1 to 2 pages from us, you will get a translation within the next working day (i.e. within 24 hours). If it is not a translation of the European language or if it is larger than 2 pages, we will prepare the translation in about 2 to 3 working days.

Nostrification

Nostrification is the official recognition of the validity of a license obtained abroad. Typically used for validation of the decision on the validity of foreign certificates by domestic authorities. Thus, the achieved level of foreign education (primary, secondary, tertiary professional or even higher education) is recognized as equivalent to the corresponding level of home education.

In practice: the students need a court interpreter to pass their exams. We need in advance the list of subjects from which the exam will be taken and in what length. The interpreter prepares for the exams, but is not a mentor, only an adjoining interpreter.
